Armani Suits
A guide for learning about how to find a great 3 piece suit and other types of suits
Armani suits are perhaps one of the most famous brands of designer suits. They are named after Italian fashion designer, Giorgio Armani, who was born in Piacenza in 1934 and whose fashion house is one of the most famous in the world. Armani suits are up-market, ready-to-wear clothing that can only be purchased from the most exclusive retailers, either in real life or on line.
Armani suits first entered the world of fashion in the 1970s and 1980s. They were known for their impressive look and their tremendous comfort. Armani suits generally come in three pieces and consist of a jacket, vest, and trousers. Colors were gray, black, or navy blue. Their fabric was high-quality wool, linen, cashmere, silk, or cotton. Generally, these suits were worn by the more leisured classes and were seen mostly on Wall Street. The lower classes just could not afford to purchase such a high caliber product.
Armani suits in the 1980s represented success and wealth. Indeed, the fashion for “power suits,” both for men and women, was based upon Armani suits, with their elegant look. They were made famous in various films, and Armani himself became so popular that he appeared on the cover of Time Magazine in 1982.
However, Armani suits are not a thing of the past. Today, there is still a variety of Armani suits on the market, ranging from an elegant white suit to charcoal grey. The Armani Collezioni is the most popular range, with attractive wool striped and non-striped designs. Pinstripe is also clearly in style.
Even today, Armani suits are not for those who are down at heel or lacking in income. The typical prices of Armani suits are around $1,436 – and that is just for the Armani Collezioni – which is by no means the upper end of the scale. While prices are somewhat lower if you find special offers from the Armani website itself, you still need to have a sizeable budget on hand to be able to purchase an Armani suit. It is still considered a luxury to be able to own such a sought after garment.
Alternatively, if Armani suits are completely beyond your price range, there are a few options left to you. You could, of course, forget about buying an Armani suit. There are other ways to look and feel chic. But that seems to be a shame, especially if you are aiming to wear high fashion and if Armani suits are what will make you feel good. You could also buy one of the many imitation Armani suits that are out there. Okay, we know it’s not the real thing, but who’s really looking? Or you could wade through the many websites that deal with such clothing, and you may find a used Armani suit in decent condition or even a special offer on Armani suits.
The decision is all yours. Armani suits are a classic part of U.S. suit fashion, and with their long history, they are evidently here to stay.
